Frostfire es un partido-3 juego de puzzle abstracto que combina nuevos y conocidos para crear la mecánica de juego más profunda.

Para llegar a una puntuación más alta que necesita para que coincida con tres o más fichas similares (del mismo elemento, el fuego o las heladas, y el mismo nivel), su fusión en un único chip de la siguiente nivel. Puede mover un chip con golpecitos y luego tocando su destino, siempre que hay un camino desbloqueado entre estos dos lugares. Hay seis niveles de fichas; cuanto mayor sea el nivel de fichas coincidentes, más puntos obtendrá. La fusión de tres o más fichas del más alto nivel (de cualquier elemento) produce el chip inamovible final - Frostfire.

Cada nuevo juego se juega en un tablero hexagonal generado de forma aleatoria, por lo que el juego menos repetible y, a veces más difícil.
