The secret organization Saitō always takes on extremely dangerous assignments that remain unknown to the public. This led to a sudden drop in overall social progress when an unknown virus infected the population. A virus turns the once-glorious Neo Kowloon city into a blackened, terrifying place filled with horrifying monsters with fiery red eyes. These creatures viciously pursue and bite anyone still living in the city. As a member of Saito's workforce, you must confront the virus’s destructive presence. This increasingly difficult battle has just begun. By working for Saito, you begin the fight against the monsters.

In the third-person shooter game Time Attack, the player experiences a bit of Resident Evil’s shooting style mixed with Cyberpunk graphics. It also features some horror that’s similar to playing in first-person. Alongside Time Attack, Petrichor also has its own substance. This anime features female warrior characters. Does Saitou belong to a feminist war group? No one has confirmed this, but it is believed that the players who love to shoot create an incredibly unique experience when controlling attractive women. A third-person perspective grants you access to your characters shoulder while playing. As you traverse the streets of an outdated city, you encounter increasingly speedy monsters that demand you fight them. In Petrichor: Time Attack, you must choose a female character from the Saito organization when participating in any activity. This is because almost every activity involves survival shooting. The group features Maria, Hector, Sybil, Elizabeth, and Langlee. Each member possesses a particular strength or instinctive talent (with bows, shotguns, pistols or slingshots) that makes them invaluable to the cause. Ammo and health indicators appear on the screen when characters enter a level. These indicators help the player easily follow their progression. Each time a monster is shot down, its statistics update and add to the player's score. After collecting enough points, players can upgrade their weapons— which can be done automatically. Weapons in Petrichor: Time Attack don't pose a significant threat to the player. That said, characters' ability to swap arms makes combat even more thrilling. The Time Attack shooting range in Petrichor is one of the first available, and its current iteration is much better than the original release. This is because the range makes aiming easier and later upgrades grant new weapons longer range. This makes it easier to deal with groups of monsters rushing toward you. When developing Gamepad-compatible Time Attack, the designers chose to make the game intentionally simple and accessible.

The minimalistic Everything in Petrichor: Time Attack makes all the backgrounds, images, and characters easy to understand. The zombies featured in this game lack any specific shape; they simply resemble a dark mass with two red eyes. This minimalistic design has led to significant effects, as it makes the game easy to comprehend. The game space presents a blend of modern and retro colors that juxtapose the gloomy atmosphere. It also incorporates elements from the past that evoke emotions when played. You can fully immerse yourself in the game by focusing on aiming accurately and decisively. When broken through, that sense of dread and tightness melds with a sigh of relief and the anticipation of escape. People think Petrichor: Time Attack looks and sounds like a cyberpunk game because of the music and color scheme. The music brings a feeling of excitement like in other horror games, but people also say it makes the game look like a cyberpunk film.
