ESWAT: 16-bit video games like CITY Under Siege Classic come with a sky full of childhood memories. These aren’t just games, they’re a child’s entire world. ESWAT City Under Siege was a 16-bit game released years before Metal Slug and Contra. People rarely know that, unless they know about ESWAT first.

ESWAT City Under Siege Classic is a game that looks similar to Shinobi. It takes place in the future and features a blonde police officer named Duke Oda. Oda is a rookie in the Cyber Police Force and a playable character in the game ESWAT City Under Siege Classic. You are the only one capable of quelling the street gangs' violent tendencies. As a police officer armed with ICE Combat Suits, you must fight crime in the city of Liberty. Because of numerous street gangs in the area, Liberty is experiencing chaos.

In the first and second levels of this game, Duke Oda is fully human and can only use a shotgun. When confronted by the enemy, Oda takes a single shot to the face that kills him. Duke Oda gets a new armor at the end of the second level. Called the ICE Combat Suit, this armor adds many new weapons to the player's arsenal, including missiles, plasma, super shot and enhanced accuracy. However, this armor also increases the player's size and movement speed, making it harder to avoid attacks from enemies. ESWAT: City Under Siege Classic was originally a project from the onset. It combines the SEGA Forever emulator core with additional customizations to deliver 16-bit games on the mobile device. I only have one issue with ESWAT: City Under Siege Classic on my phone: the in-game controls bother me. The virtual keypad on the screen of a game sometimes leads to difficulty when typing. I wish I had a real MFi controller so I could easily navigate the navigation pad and 3 function buttons. Functions include jet activation, weapon use and jump. Both the buttons and the navigation pad are close together, making it easy to mess up while typing. This game is very difficult for me to play even after I became used to the control system and played ESWAT City Under Siege before. This game is hard because enemies can appear unexpectedly, armor-clad characters are slow, and finding weapons when you get defeated is difficult.

ESWAT: City Under Siege Classic relies exclusively on 16-bit graphics, but it still impresses with its high-tech visuals and audio. Because of this, the game builds a strong reputation among video gamers thanks to its advanced technology. Given its classic status, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The first level has well-decorated buildings with bright lights. However, later levels have less variety and boring visuals. I still like the game's dark atmosphere, as well as the sounds and effects paired with the animation. The music in the game is enjoyable but not too challenging to understand. This makes it appealing to me.
