With a background in professional rugby, Leigh has captained for Wales and the county under 18s numerous times, as well as playing for premier division sides Newport, Cardiff and English division one club, Worcester.

Leigh thrived from the strict discipline of fitness and so derived a passion for boxing, claiming that “training is part of me and fitness defines me”. Leigh developed an understanding that fitness is a pivotal part of any sport and to be the best, you must strive to be the fittest.
